Virginia 2026 Election Early Voting Dates
June 16, 2026 — State & Federal **Primary Election
  • Early, in-person voting starts: Friday, May 1, 2026
  • Early voting ends: Saturday, June 13, 2026 (by 5:00 PM)
  • Voter registration deadline (to vote in this election): Friday, June 5, 2026
  • Deadline to request absentee ballot by mail: Friday, June 5, 2026 elections.virginia.gov

Tip: For this primary election, Virginia offers the 45-day early voting period before Election Day — so in-person early voting generally begins about 45 days before the actual voting date. voteamerica.org

November 3, 2026 — General Election
  • Early, in-person voting starts: Friday, September 18, 2026
  • Early voting ends: Saturday, October 31, 2026 (by 5:00 PM)
  • Voter registration deadline (to vote in this election): Friday, October 23, 2026
  • Deadline to request absentee ballot by mail: Friday, October 23, 2026 elections.virginia.gov
