Dr. Leming, Candidate for Gloucester BOS, was our Guest Speaker and Tracie Duncan the Vice President of the VA Young Republicans joined us on Zoom too. Mike Walls, Mathews BOS was with us too…he always attends whenever he can because he feels this group is very important…thank you, Mike! Great attendance & Great meeting. Lots of people are on vacation this month…we canceled July 21st MPYR meeting…the next meeting will be August 18th. We can have some discussions about Speakers you would like to hear from and Actions we want to take in the near future. Stay cool. -Jean-

We had a wonderful MPYR gathering at the Farm yesterday, June 14th, 2025. We were missing quite a few members who hopefully will make our next Social time. We will do it again in the Fall and enjoy the Fire. Toured the Farm, enjoyed good food/drink and discussed future plans for the group. Topic of his Presentation: “The Active Citizen – Career, Life and Politics”
Jay McConville is an Army veteran, management professional, civic volunteer, doctoral candidate, athletic trainer, and musician. He currently works as a personal trainer while pursuing his PhD in Public Policy at Virginia Commonwealth University, expected to defend his dissertation in July 2025. Jay was the founder of Emerald Collaborative Partners LLC and served as the CEO of Privia LLC. He has held senior roles at companies like Lockheed Martin, General Dynamics, and ManTech.
Jay has also been deeply involved in civic engagement, running for the Virginia House of Delegates in 2009 and later serving as Chairman of the Fairfax County Republican Committee. He has held leadership positions in various organizations, including the Washington DC Chapter of AUVSI and the Ft. Hunt Youth Athletic Association. Jay currently serves on the operating board of “Constituting America,” a nonprofit teaching the U.S. Constitution to youth.
Jay holds a BA from George Mason University and an MS in Strategic Intelligence from the Defense Intelligence College. He also writes a column on Substack called “Goose and Gander,” completed his second Ironman Triathlon in 2023, and plays trumpet and sings in his band, The Monumentals. Jay lives in Mathews, Virginia, with his wife Susan. They have three children and five grandchildren.

We were discussing meeting at the Farm to work on Social Media & more for our group…how about June 14th, 4pm? We can grill hamburgers or ? Our next meeting is June 16th…put it on the Calendar and invite Friends!
Our Mid Pen Young Republicans attending the March 26th, 2025 Gloucester Board of Supervisors Town Hall. Logan spoke and was well received. We are going to attend the April 15th Glouc. BOS meeting, 6pm, TC Walker Bldg., join us…adding our voices!
Thank you for zooming us at our March 4th, 2025 meeting Orlando Martinez, Director of Candidate Services with the VA GOP and with the Richmond Young Republicans. You were a wealth of knowledge of how to properly form and grow our Middle Peninsula Young Republicans! We are planning on joining with the Richmond Young Republicans on some projects soon. We had a zoom option for virtual attendance but no recording. We will be meeting once a month going forward on the 1st Tuesday of each month, 6pm Social & Dinner, 630pm-8pm meeting. Our next meeting is April 1st, 2025. Invite a Friend and Join Us!
Jon Mellis brought 2 J6 Friends with him to the last meeting on Feb. 17th, 2025. They did not want their names publicized but we enjoyed having them with us! They were all heading for CPAC…we are sure praying for Justice for all of them. Great meeting…lots of discussion, Julian had a great presentation about all the Fraud being exposed and the Mid Pen Breakfast Club paid for dinner for everyone! Thank you Breakfast Club!
Our last meeting, Feb 4th, was very interesting! Teresa Altemus popped in on Zoom and Jullian Lawson prepared a great presentation on the USAID situation. The debt clock was awful & cool at the same time…you could see the debt as it adds up and the money coming back in that DOGE was saving the Country. We will be sharing and inviting others…next meeting is Monday, Feb. 17th, 6pm, Damons with a Zoom option. Link to be posted soon.
